You Were Born Joyful
Think back to when you were a very small child. You did not need a reason to be happy. A patch of sunlight on the floor, a butterfly drifting past the window, the smell of something warm in the kitchen — these were enough. Joy was your natural state. You carried it the way a flower carries its fragrance: effortlessly, abundantly, without condition.
Somewhere along the way, life layered itself upon that joy. Responsibilities, expectations, heartbreaks, and hurry — they arrived, one after another, and slowly you began to believe that joy was something you had to earn, chase, or deserve. You began to treat it as a reward at the end of a long road, rather than the very ground you walk upon.
But I want to tell you something, from the deepest place I know: that original joy has never left you. It is waiting beneath every layer of worry, every old story you carry, every moment of forgetting. The soul's journey is not away from joy — it is back toward it.
Joy is not a destination the soul is travelling to. It is the nature of the soul itself — ever present, ever patient, ever calling you home.
Why the Soul Chose This Journey
In my years as a mindfulness coach, meditation teacher, and intuitive healer, I have sat with thousands of souls — in quiet rooms in Mumbai and across the world on screen — each one searching for the same thing. Not success, not even healing. At the deepest level, every person who finds their way to my door is searching for permission to feel joy again.
The soul chooses to incarnate for a reason. It comes with a blueprint — a set of experiences it wishes to have, lessons it wishes to understand, gifts it wishes to offer, and love it wishes to both give and receive. None of those reasons include remaining small, staying afraid, or forgetting your own magnificence.
The challenges you face — the relationships that stretched you, the losses that broke you open, the seasons of confusion — these were never punishments. They were invitations. Invitations to go deeper, to grow wider, to discover reserves of strength and compassion you did not know you held. The soul uses every experience, difficult and beautiful alike, as fuel for its most essential purpose: expansion into joy.
What a Joyful Soul Looks Like
Over many years of guiding seekers through mindfulness practices, Akashic Records readings, and deep intuitive healing, I have noticed that those who have reconnected with their soul's joy share four common qualities. These are not personality traits—they are states of being that any of us can cultivate.
Presence
They live in the now. Not in yesterday's regrets or tomorrow's fears—but fully, softly, in this breath, this moment.
Gratitude
They see beauty in the ordinary. A cup of chai, a phone call from a friend, morning light—each thing is a gift.
Surrender
They release control, trust the universe, and allow life to unfold in divine timing.
Alignment
They live true to their soul's calling rather than the life the world designed for them.
Five Ways to Return to Your Soul's Joy
This is not a theory. Joy is a practice — a daily, gentle, conscious choosing. Here are five invitations I offer to every soul I work with, to help them find their way back to their own radiance.
-
Begin each morning with stillness
Before the phone, before the to-do list, before the noise of the world rushes in — give yourself five minutes of silence. Breathe. Feel your heartbeat. You are alive. That is the first miracle. Acknowledge it.
-
Ask your soul a question every day
Sit quietly and ask: "What does my soul need today?" Then listen — not with your mind, but with the soft awareness behind your mind. The answer may come as a feeling, an image, a sudden knowing. Trust it.
-
Release what you are carrying that is not yours
Much of what weighs us down is not even our own burden — it is the grief of our ancestors, the fears of our parents, the expectations of a society that never asked if we were happy. Through conscious breath and intention, you can give these back with love.
-
Choose one thing each day purely for joy
Not for productivity. Not for anyone else. One thing that makes your soul sing — a walk in the rain, a song you love, ten minutes of dancing in your kitchen. Joy must be practised in small moments before it can become a way of life.
-
Speak to yourself as you would speak to the divine
You are a soul having a human experience. That soul is sacred. Speak to yourself — in your inner dialogue — with the same reverence and tenderness you would offer a beloved. The words you use inside become the world you live in outside.
When you align with your soul's joy, you do not just change your own life. You become a light that gently, quietly, changes the lives of everyone around you.
Joy Is an Act of Service
I have seen it happen again and again in the people I work with: the moment they give themselves permission to be joyful, the world around them begins to shift. Relationships soften. Opportunities appear as if from nowhere. Health improves. This is not coincidence — this is the law of resonance in motion.
When you vibrate at the frequency of joy, you become a tuning fork for joy in others. Your laughter gives someone permission to laugh. Your peace gives someone a reason to pause. Your courage to live fully becomes a silent invitation to every soul near you to do the same.
Your joy, then, is not selfish. Your joy is a gift to the world. Living it fully is the highest form of service your soul can offer.
You Are Already Whole
Wherever you are right now — whether life feels expansive and light, or whether you are in the middle of a season that feels heavy and uncertain — I want you to remember this: your soul's joy was never lost. It was only waiting to be remembered.
The journey is not from brokenness to wholeness. You are already whole. The journey is from forgetting to remembering. From believing you are small to knowing you are vast. From waiting for joy to choosing it — right here, right now, in this exact moment of your beautiful, unfolding life.
The soul's journey is joyful. Not because it is without challenges, but because underneath every challenge is a strength you are discovering. Behind every ending is a beginning your heart has already recognised. And through it all, there is a love — vast, patient, and unwavering — that the universe holds for you without condition.
You are on a joyful journey. You always have been.
May you remember your joy today. May you carry it gently into every room you enter. And may you know, in the quiet place beneath all doing and striving, that you are — and have always been — exactly where you need to be.
